Crime Map
The Northfield Police Department is using the LexisNexis® Community Crime Map to connect law enforcement with the community to reduce crime and improve public safety. Crime mapping helps you get a better idea of the crime activity in your area so you can make more informed decisions about how to stay safe.

Empowering the public
Community Crime Map goes beyond crime mapping by automatically alerting the public about recent crime activity and by improving communication between the public and law enforcement. Community Crime Map empowers the public to make better decisions about crime by putting the same technology used by law enforcement to analyze and interpret crime activity into the hands of the public.
Privacy for victims
Addresses are anonymized to the hundred block for victim safety reasons, while still providing transparency in the call types and information available to the public.
Data updates
Crimes reported to the Northfield Police Department are automatically uploaded to the community crime map on a daily basis once processed.
Selecting data
The default selection is the FBI Part I crimes, which are the more serious crimes (which we have very few of in Northfield). The program allows you to select many different options to search for crime information including date range and type of events.
You can click on an event to learn more information.
Analyzing data
The Community Crime Map also provides analytics.
Help using the map
There is a help link on the map's website that can provide you with instructions.
Signing up for alerts
The Community Crime Map has an option to sign up for crime alerts. You can set up an account and have email-delivered reports based on the criteria you select.
