Cedar Meadows Residential Development

Overview

Terrace Companies submitted and has completed an Environmental Assessment Worksheet (EAW) for a proposed residential development, Cedar Meadows, at Parcel ID 43-52005-00-010 in Northfield.

The City Council approved a resolution with a negative declaration of the need for an Environmental Impact Statement.

Location

The development site is located in the northwest corner of North Avenue (330th Street) and Cedar Avenue (Eveleth Avenue). The development site is primarily agricultural crop field. The property to the north is primarily agricultural fields. West of the development project is the Northfield Hospital and Clinics. South of the development project across North Avenue is a Mayo Clinics Health System building. East of the development project across Cedar Avenue are medium to high density residential suburbs.

Residential development

Multiple residential unit types are proposed including:

• 53 detached villas
• 26 single family units
• 16 units (8 buildings) of twin homes/duplexes
• 12 units (4 buildings) of triplexes
• 63 units (1 building) of senior co-op
• Outlot A intended for development of apartment buildings

In addition, the necessary road infrastructure, a park, several wetland areas and buffers, and storm water ponds are proposed as part of the project. The number of units is approximate.
