Parks & Recreation
The City of Northfield Streets & Parks Division maintains publicly-owned places that offer many ways to enjoy an active life in Northfield. This includes over 35 parks and open spaces, pedestrian and bicycle paths, an arena, and outdoor pool.

Adopt-a-Park Program
Adopt-a-Park is a public service program, which allows volunteers to aid in beautification, identify safety hazards, and help maintain the City of Northfield Park System.

The ice arena provides open skate and open hockey.

Northfield Area Veterans Memorial Park
The Northfield Area Veterans Memorial Park honors all branches of service. The Memorial is located on the south end of Riverside Lions Park, Ninth Street and Poplar Street.

Outdoor Ice Rinks
Northfield has six outdoor skating rinks and a skating oval. All rinks have lights and warming houses.

Northfield has 35 parks totaling 564 acres of land, 22 miles of trails, 22 playgrounds and four park shelters.

Park and Recreation Capital Investment Plan
As part of the city’s Strategic Plan, the city’s goal is to have all parks and recreation facilities judged satisfactory or above and exceeding community expectations. The City has created a Draft Capital Park and Recreation Investment Plan that will provide strategies for funding existing deteriorated park and recreation infrastructure and address unmet park and recreation needs in the community.

Soccer Complex
The Spring Creek Soccer Complex is a 10-field cooperative between the City of Northfield and the Northfield Soccer Association. The NSA maintains the fields and schedules all field use.
